The Sword are not any extra! The Texas-based stoner rock and steel outfit have introduced their break up in an announcement from singer and rhythm guitarist John D. Cronise.

The band launched six studio albums over the course of their profession, with the newest being 2018’s Used Future. In addition they issued the Greetings From…. dwell album in 2017, and have taken half in a number of compilations, EPs and break up releases. They loved their biggest chart success when 2012’s Apocryphon peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.

Cronise reveals in his assertion that he felt that all the things he needed to say and do with the band creatively “has been stated and achieved,” so he felt the time was proper to maneuver on. His full assertion might be learn under:

Whats up mates,

I discover it my responsibility to tell you that, after a lot contemplation, I’ve reached the troublesome conclusion that it’s time to deliver The Sword’s lengthy and storied profession to a detailed. Once I began the band again in 2004, I may’ve solely hoped for the successes we’ve loved, and I contemplate myself extraordinarily fortunate to have been in a position to do it for a residing for nearly twenty years. In that point all the things I ever needed to say and do with The Sword creatively has been stated and achieved, and so the time has come for me to maneuver on to different endeavors.

Due to everybody who’s ever come to a present, purchased our albums and merch, and supported us over time. Due to everybody who’s teched, tour managed, achieved sound, or bought merch for us. Due to all of the bands who’ve taken us on tour and to all of the bands we’ve taken on tour.

Due to the promotors and venues who booked us and allow us to play. Due to the producers and recording engineers who labored on our albums and to the labels that launched them. Due to Josh our reserving agent and Mark our enterprise supervisor, whom we’re glad to rely as mates. And most of all due to my bandmates, Kyle, Bryan, Jimmy, and Trivett, for having religion in me and permitting me to comprehend my imaginative and prescient. You dudes are true legends.
