Avril Lavigne has returned with new single, I am A Mess, that includes Yungblud.
I am A Mess was written by Lavigne and Yungblud – actual identify Dominic Harirson – alongside frequent collaborator Travis Barker of Blink-182 and John Feldmann.
The music itself is a sickly-sweet emo ballad, overflowing with the singer-songwriter’s love for teen angst and damaged romance, that includes longing lyrics similar to ‘Starin’ on the pavement alone / Wishin’ I used to be on my means house to you / All of the retailers in London are closed / And I do not know the place to go from right here’.
Following Lavigne’s first verse, Yungblud duets along with her on the refrain, earlier than his vocals take centre stage on the second verse, singing ‘It hasn’t been the identical since that evening (Oh) / I want I stated “I really like you” only one extra time (Yet another time)’.
The monitor was first teased late final month (October 25) when the pair of musicians posted the identical video to their Instagram accounts, captioned, I’m A Mess.
Throughout the clip, Lavigne sits on a rest room whereas Yungblud is positioned behind her on the tank. Because the Canadian pop-punk princess calls out for a beer, the Doncaster musician begins to chop off a considerable size of her hair.
Later that day, Yungblud elaborated on the collaboration, and wrote on Twitter: “the music we’re about to drop is full-on lookin’ out the window of your mother or father’s automotive pretendin’ you’re in a music video vibes.” To be truthful, we have all accomplished it.
